TRANSCENDENCE Singer Ed Hale Releases BED PEACE 2008 Video Project

TRANSCENDENCE singer/songwriter/guitarist Ed Hale spent New Years Eve filming the Lennonesque homage BED PEACE 2008 video project, pajamas and all, spending four days in bed “for peace” and releasing the ten minute film on YouTube. “The problem was how to celebrate the New Year respectfully with all of the recent violence, turmoil, and humanitarian crises happening around the world. Especially the brutal battle going on in Gaza and Palestine. To do the usual party to party scene all night just didn’t seem appropriate at the time… still doesn’t. The idea just grew from there… Then it just came down to if we had the energy and the commitment to really do something. That’s what it always comes down to isn’t it? The idea was how much can we do if we focus 110% on peace in the world for three or four days and nights? That was the question. What CAN we do? Luckily I was with someone who was willing to play along and go for it… Imagine if every single one of us did something, anything, using whatever skills or talents or ideas we had and just focused three or four days a year on nothing but peace in the world… it wouldn’t be long… We’d be there by now.”

TRANSCENDENCE guitarist Perdomo busy while band awaits album releases

TRANSCENDENCE guitarist Perdomo leans into a killer riffAll the members of TRANSCENDENCE have been keeping themselves busy while patiently waiting the release of the group’s new CDs. There are three now rumored to be in line to come out this year – including a new rarities and unreleased collection. The band’s drummer Bill Sommer trekked off to the Big Island of Hawaii to voluntour on an organic farm for a month, while singer Ed Hale has been jetting around the globe playing goodwill ambassador and finishing a new book. Bassist Roger Houdaille released his first solo album Ginger Baby under the name Father Bloopy, and guitarist Fernando Perdomo has been burning the candle at both ends musically lending his hands and ears to several projects.

He recently completed composing music for a French short film entitled “Gri-Gri” along with Marc Charioud, and Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Jorge Moreno. The film is the acting debut of superstar rapper Diams. Fernando co wrote and played Guitar, Bass, Moog, and Drums on the theme song “Gang Star”.

Perdomo is also currently producing the English language debut of Moreno — tentatively titled “The Great Tribulation”

Broadway’s Cry Baby star James Snyder’s debut album “L. A. Curse” is out on Lion’s Gate records. Perdomo also lent his talents to this project – playing lead guitar and bass, and arranging the album’s horn parts, and choir parts.

TRANSCENDENCE Launch New Website

Those lovable eclectic unpredictable and undefinable indie rockers TRANSCENDENCE have just launched a new website. Same great taste and even easier to use with a lot more features. The new website is now a fully dynamic and interactive Web2.0 site that allows a lot more interaction amongst fans and easier communication between fans and the band. Hey, if you’re reading this, chances are you’re already there. If not, you can find the site where it’s always been: www. transcendence.com. The official website for the rock band TRANSCENDENCE. The band is keeping the old site up for diehards and nostalgia but will no longer be updating it with the latest. As always if you want to keep up with the latest news and goings on with the band, subscribe with your email address or just grab the RSS Feed and add it to your homepage.

If you’re a Facebook user (and you are right?) look for the band’s official Facebook page and join up to get the latest even faster. Not quite the speed of light, but damn close to it.

Ed Hale to start guest blogging on Sundance Film Channel

Ed Hale – who has been hard at work on his new book Revolution in Me while awaiting the release of the band’s new CDs – will begin a regular weekly guest blog for a few months on the official Sundance Film Channel website in the coming weeks focusing on his peace delegation visit to the country of Iran and how it relates to all things GREEN: the environment, peace, war, oil, nuclear energy, and most importantly humanity. The blogs will be similar to his regular posts on his long-running Transcendence Diaries blog but will be shorter in length of course. The blog posts will feature photos, and links to videos and photo slideshows from his trip, as well as guest interviews with authors, scientists, and experts in various fields. Stay tuned for the first installment.

In the meantime, Transcendence does indeed have three new CDs releasing this year including the band’s official two new albums, The Great Mistake (EMI) and All Your Heroes Become Villains (DVG), and a new rarities and unreleased tracks album called The City of Lost Children. Stay tuned for release dates.

To best stay informed of the latest, head to Facebook and add as a friend or subscribe to the band’s site either through email or RSS Feed.
