New reality show being filmed.
New York based production company Polar Productions has started filming a pilot for a new reality show based around Ed’s move to New York, the band and their rise to fame and fortune or total anonymity, all while trying to run their own record company in the process. In the show Ed interacts with a lot of people on the streets of New York and interviews various people from political activists to religious leaders to doormen and homeless people. Polar productions president Kevin Chap says, “Ed is a natural in front of the camera. He is funny without intending to be. Just watching him try to make coffee by himself is hilarious. People are going to see this show and think, ‘who is this guy and where did he come from?’†The show is two months into filming.
The idea first came about after an initial screening of a new documentary that was filmed about the band this summer by Journey of Dreams productions out of Asheville , NC . The documentary, due out by Christmas, is one hour long and features interviews with the band and live footage of the band performing several concerts in Atlanta . Editing for the pilot for the reality show is scheduled to be competed by the end of the year.

Ed Hale performs for Brazilian Minister of Industry
On a recent trip to Brazil to study, Ed Hale performed a solo acoustic show for select guests including the country’s Minister of Industry, in the state of Goaiz. The acoustic set featured 6 songs. Most of the songs came from his 1996 release Acoustic in New York. Also included was a Brazilian classic “Desde que samba e samba”. It is reported that Ed has become so enamored with the music of Brazil, that he is thinking of recording an entire album there. His recent visit to Brazil to study the language of Portuguese and the Brazilian music sensation Samba is a clear indication that his inspiration is now being directed toward the culture of the region. Although the concert was not televised, Ed was interviewed on local television.
